Shockingly wierd...

The strangest conversation occurred yesterday as I was making dinner. . .

Ellie: What are we having? (typical question usually followed by disgust)
Me: (embarrassed to admit) Macaroni and cheese and Hot dogs--no Jammy kind of meal.
E: Can we have vegetables too?
M: (mouth gaping wide in shock) Sure
E: I want cauliflower.
M: uh. . . . . . . . .OK

I have not been great at the vegetable thing, as I am not the biggest veggie lover myself. Usually I open a can of beans and call it good, however a while ago I found a great thing. In the freezer section there are these bags that have broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots (there are lots of choices-this is our favorite) and they steam in the bag in the microwave. LOVE IT!! super easy and tastes like fresh steamed veggies. The first time I got them- and most of the time- Karson eats all the carrots, he even snatches them from other peoples plates. lol This is really funny to me since Ellie HATES carrots, not the taste, the fact that she says they are hard to chew--whatever. So I started giving Karson all the carrots and Ellie one piece of broccoli and one piece of cauliflower. That went on for a while occasionally I would sneak some broccoli onto Karson's plate and he never would eat it. Then (this is quite the long story about veggies--lol) one night as we (me and kids) were eating, I had served the veggie as normal, but then decided I would eat the rest of the bag so I poured it onto my plate. Karson started to snatch veggies but to my shock he was taking the "green trees" so of course Ellie wanted another also. She quickly lost interest and Karson took all the broccoli--not just took it but ate it ALL. Ever since the fight over the biggest pieces--which they insist on shoving as much as will fit into their mouths. It's probably because I am doubting them and the want to prove me wrong--at this time only I overlook that and the shoving--all for the veggies! I thought this would be a phase, but it's just getting better--they now ask for veggies--LOVE IT!

Love the veggie story! I've been having success by letting Harrison dip his broccoli. The kid will eat anything with ranch!

Oh--and your wreath was only the cutest thing ever.
